To Make An Investment Or Hire A Charter: Acquiring An Executive Jet

By Felix S. Davis

If you are one of the many individuals who've come to the point where they feel they are in need of a more convenient and relaxing way to take all of their necessary flights, you may have considered acquiring your own executive jet. Whether you want to be able to make it to all your meetings at your own convenience or would like to travel comfortably on your personal vacations, you will probably come up with quite a few reasons that you might have for owning one of the marvelous aircraft.

There are a few different ways that a person could actually go about obtaining a jet of their own, but since none of them are particularly affordable, you have a good bit of thinking to do before coming to a proper decision. Deciding which way you want to end up spending millions of dollars isn't something many people would do without much thought, so prepare yourself for a relatively tough choice.

Of course, you will most likely want to begin by comparing the overall prices, and actual ownership can be incredibly expensive since it includes the cost of the jet itself on top of regular storage and maintenance fees. No matter how expensive it can be, though, ownership makes the most sense for people who are always taking to the skies and can't wait around to schedule with outside companies. If you don't fly too often, renting a charter jet can save you a pretty generous sum of money since you will only be paying for the hours that you are in flight and a couple of other nominal expenses.

There is one option that is kind of a happy medium for the latter two and it is known as fractional ownership, a way to own your own jet without having to actually afford the full price of it. The great part about this type of program is that you will have access to your own personal jet for only a small portion of the cost, but the bad side is that you will also have to schedule your flights around those of your fellow owners and you'll have extra expenses to pay for.

If outright ownership or even fractional ownership are not in your budget or simply not necessary, you can always just rent yourself a private aircraft through a local charter company. No matter how you go about getting it, your own executive jet will offer you the nice bonus of getting where you want to be whenever you want get there.
